I'm thinking of a philosophy of life of some Christians who live in the civilized world in the XXI century, the teaching of stubbornness that you need to take care of others apart, or at the expense of themselves. What counts is the second, not counting the self. Personally, I do not agree with this philosophy, because the commandment of love teaches me to "love thy neighbor as thyself," not "in place of himself"! I must therefore take care of yourself first, then I can think of one. This concerns not only the material but also spiritual. Attain what is the use if I can help to save the world, and the taint of his soul to damnation ...
I write these words in the context of certain situations in which they are found, and for which, at least, "the paper" should be responsible ... The situation is totally new to me. Pathetic and embarrassing is when I come back after a few hours of work, home, tired, and ... I wonder whether I'd better get to go to some pub to eat anything honest. I'm not demanding, but I think that something should be honest. In the morning, as I will not organize something I go to work on an empty stomach, because the person responsible for the kitchen after a long time to come, to prepare breakfast 'first for yourself. That's right: "First, for myself," so much that for my money ... I have in my life I did not have such a situation, even when it came to me for two months to live in Africa, poor reality! Why? I guess just because powywracanego order and lack of courage, (and my) to slam on the table and say that the time to think about yourself first!
Another reality is that the same spirit ... miserable situation. There are no sacred space at home, which by definition should this be, no set time for the common spiritual "feast" for the benefit of "apostolic" is in my opinion a big mistake. Well, unless I say again: "Mea culpa" that at this so I give!
guess time reverse the order, change a bit this bizarre philosophy of life, according to which counts everything and everyone, but at least I myself, in this Gospel: "Love your neighbor as yourself"!
